Are you worried about your health and wellness?

Here are five tips to help you take control of your health today

A few years back nobody would have anticipated that a virus called COVID-19 would disrupt our daily routines in the way that it has today. Wearing of masks, observing social distances when in a public place, staying at home as much as well as observing all government COVID-19 protocols. Most companies have embraced remote-working for some of their staff, therefore making the term “working from home” popular in recent times.

COVID-19 has disrupted our normal livelihood, a day that previously involved a lot of movement such as walking around a lot, shopping, outings with family and friends may have reduced due to the restrictions in place. As a result, some people may have adopted a more sedentary lifestyle that involves sitting for long periods of time watching television, on social media in their phones or sitting at their computers for a much longer period than usual. We have all been somehow affected by COVID-19, whether or not you have tested positive, the virus has obviously had an impact on your day-to-day life, this could have a negative effect on your overall health and mental wellbeing.

It is important to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle while limiting exposure to COVID-19. So what are some of the things that one should do?

Stay active

Gyms may be closed or have restrictions to the number of people who can be there at a go, however, this should not discourage you to not exercise. There are many alternatives available, aerobics can be done at home or in parks. Go for walks or jog outside in areas that are not crowded. Take the stairs, do some push-ups, jumping-jacks and many other exercises offered online by trainers to stay fit.

Get adequate sleep

Good sleep is essential for the good health and optimum performance of an individual. Studies have revealed that one requires at least seven or more hours of sleep in a day. Therefore, for your overall health, you should strive to get some good sleep.

Maintain your healthcare

If you have any medical condition, make sure you are taking your medications as directed by your physician. If you have any concerns, be sure to contact your doctor or healthcare provider. Chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and many others should be controlled by taking your medications as prescribed. Alert your healthcare provider as soon as you observe anything out of the ordinary with your health.

Manage stress and anxiety

Manage your stress levels and anxiety, keep your mental health in check by engaging in exercise, meditation, hobbies, and sharing moments with family and friends. Despite the new precautions and guidelines to combat COVID-19, we must find ways to positively cope with stress and anxiety caused by all these imposed precautions. Try and develop new or even better routines such as exercise to help you cope in this unprecedented era.

Maintain contact

As much as some of the COVID-19 precautions involve quarantine and isolation, keep talking to your loved ones and friends, check on each other frequently, utilize social media and other apps to stay in touch with friends and family. We may have taken keeping in touch with our loved ones lightly initially, but now is the time to ensure that you maintain a connection with friends and family.

What do you put into consideration when you are investing in a motor vehicle?
Many people including you may have on top of their mind maintenance costs, and security of the vehicle. While both are important considerations, in this article we will consider the security of your asset. This is where insurance comes in. Why you may ask.

Insurance is a protection for your asset in the event that your vehicle gets damaged in an accident, gets stolen, or it breaks down. This is the reason why you need to insure your asset so that it can cover you in the event of any of those occurrences.

Many people have encountered such incidences in their life. In order to avoid paying the extra costs and most often very high costs, you should insure your asset. This, however, doesn’t mean you should settle for just any insurance cover you come across. It is essential to do thorough market research for the best cover that suits your needs. Here at Africus Insurance, we have made it easy for you to find the product that best suits your assets.

Most insurers here in Kenya including Africus Insurance offer 3 types of covers to protect your vehicle. Africus Insurance is a renowned name in the field of insurance that offers its services countrywide. The different types of covers that we provide are:

Third-party insurance

Third-party fire and theft insurance.

Comprehensive car insurance.

A huge population of people prefers to buy third-party insurance over the other two because of the variation in costs. However, to gain maximum benefits from the cover, it’s advised to purchase the other two insurance policies.

The suitability of any one cover may be determined by your coverage needs, and finances available. Africus insurance offers the provision of custom-tailored plans that best suit your needs to be on the cover. All this can be done right from the comfort of your living room!

Now, let’s consider what each of the above insurance plans entail.

Third-party Car Insurance.

As per the Kenyan law, all vehicles running on the road must be insured. The choice of the type of cover solely lies on you. Third-party car insurance is the most basic when it comes to covering your car in the event of an accident. If you are looking for minimum coverage of your car, then this is the right plan for you.

This type of cover meets the expenses that are incurred from an accident that occurred as a result of your actions. The plan will take charge of the arising liabilities from the damage made to the other person, vehicle, or property.

This insurance plan does not cover you, or your car. Third-party insurance (as the name suggests) will only provide coverage for the third person, that is the other person who was involved in an accident with you. This means that in the event of an accident, you are not covered, you will foot your expenses arising from the accident.

If this is your preferred insurance plan, here at Africus Insurance will provide you with the best coverage from all the third-party liabilities directed at you. Get in touch with us today to share your requirements or request a quote.

Third-party fire and theft insurance

This is not a very common cover. It covers theft, fire, third-party bodily injury, and property damage. It has some features of comprehensive cover but is limited. It is suitable for vehicles that aren’t exposed on the roads.

Comprehensive car insurance.

Many people are exploring and doing in-depth research as to the insurance plan that has maximum benefits and one that best suits their needs. As such many are realizing the importance of having their vehicle fully covered, hence, comprehensive cover is gaining popularity. When you choose this type of cover, any third-party expenses, emergency medical bill costs, and costs arising from the loss or damage done to the car or its parts are covered.

We at Africus insurance assure you that you will get a total sense of monetary value and car protection when you purchase the comprehensive cover. The claim process is hassle-free. Get in touch to know more about the quotes and benefits under this plan.

By now you know the three types of covers for vehicles offered in Kenya. Have you seen what best suits your needs? Do you still have questions or need more information or clarification? Please call us or come to our offices where we can help you make a decision based on your needs and circumstances
